Tamiya 1/12th Porsche 910 Carrera 10
Getting back on my game, I choose this kit. It was originally made in 1967. This is the 3 or 4th reissue, the deals were great.
The version I chose was the Nurburgring 1000km Race of 1967, Driven by Shütz / Buzzeta winning the race.
I chose this because the decals were easier on me : )
It was a challenging kit because although a reissued they used the old molds, the instructions were vague. but all in all I'm happy with it.
Took 10 days on and off to build it.
The body is not painted, polished or treated in anyway, the plastic was pristine so I left it. I did scrape some of the mold lines off the fenders and buff them with a nail file. The inside of the body was brush painted flat black because I couldn't figure out a way to mask it all to spray it.
I hand painted the lettering on the tires…not perfect but I'm happy with them.
When I did the photos I notice the rear decal was lifting that will be fixed.
I'm happy with the results and it is what I needed to get my mind off things and back to building, in between spring outdoor work etc etc.
I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I did building it.
Bike (Porsche) Queen ; )
Nice job on this classic Porsche, Cricket, you’ve really brought out the best of this kit.
@chinesegeorge thank you George, I’m happy you liked it. I’m pretty proud of it…it has it faults but all around it’s good
That's really nice - I likethe older racers compared to the modern, even if the modern are more tecnhologically advanced.
@tcinla. Thak you Tom me too! I like to open wheel F1 cars very much
Good looking result. Impressive "no paint" body looks good.
@champagnecrc thank you sir! It’s a trick I learned form a friend in Florida, he too took a vintage kit and polished it to a mirror shine. The plastic on this kit was perfect and I hate painting white : )
Great work on this , Cricket @bikequeen !
@ssgt thank you Jay : )
Very well done, Cricket (@bikequeen). I want to hop in and give it a drive. It was a pleasure following your build.
@gblair Thnk you so Much George, i couldn’t have done it w/o all your encouragement i love love to drive it too ; )
A very nice Porsche, Cricket @bikequeen
Excellent paintwork, especially the hand painted letters on the tires.
Well done.
@johnb Thank you John, it felt good to jump back in to modeling

@erich1962 thanks so much Erich, the only thing didn't have was mirrors on the fenders, but seeing won the race I guess it didn't need them ; )
Excellent result, Porschequeen!
Congratulations!
@fiveten LOL…thank you Spiros
That white finish is flawless. Looks great.
@coondog Thank you Matt I surprised myself 🙂
That's a great, classic race car, Cricket @bikequeen! 🤩 Beautiful work, yet again! 👏
@garybrantley thank you Gary, I was an enjoyable build…had it’s issues but I fixed them the best i could 🙂
Nice job….the white went on well for you..it’s usually a difficult hue to make work
@johnaitken No paint at all on the body, it right out of the box plastic I scraped some mold lines but that was it
I hate painting white : )
I did the same on that original 1/12 Honda F1..
It worked better than I thought, the plastic was flawless
Looks great. I'have discovered that with the few car models I've done recently, masking can be a real challenge.
@gwfabian Yeah masking is not fun. Most of these cars have flat black on the inside but there is always been over so i brush painted it. Sloppy but it will never been seen :). Thanks for your comment
Well done Cricket, (@bikequeen) shiny white plastic !
@kalamazoo Thank Allan! I appreciate that : )
CLASSIC! 😎
@gwskat thank you Gary I’m happy with in spite of the trouble it gave me : )
