The...Catch of the Day
This is a total re-do of the slum diorama. Yes. I decided to scrap the bigger diorama for a vignette version. I did this due to the focus point being the figures and the interaction, which lends itself better on a smaller square area than the previous version. Now the focus is on the figures much more directly than the older version. I also added more details to this scene, which is more compact. I like that. π Hope you do too.
Charles this vignette is terrific. Very nice work!
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Excellent!
Thank you.
Thatβs super cool! Send them down here to Mobile. Lots of sharks in the Gulf this year.

Terrific, so much detail in such a small space.
Glad you approve.
Very nice, Charles (@tiking). Your vignettes and larger dioramas always tell a story. This one really has an "Old Man and the Sea" feel to it. Well done.
Thanks. I like that analogy.
Excellent result as always, Charles! Very nice decision to redo your diorama!
Thanks. I am glad I made the change.
Amazing work on this smaller display, Charles @tiking
Lots of details as always. Nice to see those seagulls waiting to have their piece of shark.
Thanks John. I think the gulls add some interest to the whole scene.
Amazing work, Charles! π
Thank you again Gary. Glad you like the results.
I love the way you paint your figures and all the little details on your dioramas and vignettes @tiking. I also like that your subjects are very unique. Great job and I am looking forward to seeing more.
Very kind of you Joel. Thank you very much. Appreciate your point of view.
Do you sculpt your own figures?
Hi Tom. No. I wish I could, though. But that would require great talent and patience.
