1/48 Gavia Lavochkin La-7 Ivan Kozhedub
Here is the Gavia 1/48 La-7, finished as "White 27", flown by Ivan Kozhedub. Although the kit is over twenty years old, it is still a nice kit. It comes with a full fret of photo etch details and a canopy mask sheet. I added riveting to the various panels with a rivet wheel and replaced the kit's wheels with ResKit resin wheels. The decals were from an old Superscale sheet, plus others I had the decal stash. I used primarily AK Real Colors paints, and also Alclad Aluminum for the metal areas. My first time using Alclad - I am now a big fan. More photos and notes are available at my website [www.lylesmodels.com.] Happy modelling to all.
Very nice
Thanks George!
Excellent La-7, Scott!

Absolutely wonderful, Scott @slyle
Thanks John!
Nicely done, Scott
Glad you like it Gary!
great work on this Scott, love the weathering which looks just right to my eye- battle weary but not overly done. Awesome!
Hi David, that's what I was going for...I figured the ace's aircraft might have received a little extra attention from ground crews...thanks
G’day Scott (@slyle),
Great build.
Liked!
Thank you Michael!
That looks great, Scott @slyle! 👏 I've got the Hobbycraft La-7 about half finished and man, I hope it turns out half this good! 😁
Thanks Gary. I have no experience with the Hobbycraft kit...this kit was decent but not what we're seeing today from Eduard, etc...seems like the La-7 is ripe for someone to come out with a new one...
The paint and weathering is very nice! Well done.
Thanks Greg!
Liked (a lot). You've brought out the best of what the kit had to offer.
Thank you Tom!
Very nice and successful work. I like a subtle weathering very much.
Regards, Djordje
Thanks Djordje
