1/48 SAAF Mirage F1CZ
Here's my Mirage F1CZ of the South African Air Force in their latter grey scheme. I used the 1/48 Italeri Mirage F1 kit and added a few after market sets including a cockpit from Pavla models, engine from ResKit, Eduard Matra R-550 Magic missiles, wheel wells and doors from Rafalik and a pitot tube from Master. Decals from Eagle Strike and FFSMC productions.
As many an F1 fan will know the Italeri kit's windscreen is all wrong and looks ridiculous. I managed to correct the front windscreen frames from very wide to more narrow by sanding down the frames and adding new ones using masking tape. The result is a windscreen looking more like the real thing.
Painting was done with Hataka lacquers and everything sealed with a coat of Alclad matt varnish.

Really nice. I don't think I've seen one built before
Thanks George. Yes you don't see too many of them around.
Sweet looking build!
Thanks Gary!
Excellent build!
Clean & crisp. Well-done.
Nice build. I remember when ESCI (Italeri took over the molds later) released that kit in the 1970’s. Everyone went nuts for it, including me!
Excellent result, Celliers! Excellent improvements on the original kit!
Very nice result, Celliers @cwiechers
Nice work on that canopy.
Awesome result. The over sprayed Castles look great! Always nice to see SAAF subjects on here
Very tasty
