Bristol Blenheim mk. IV, 1/72 MPM. Finnish Air Force.
I invite you to familiarize yourself with the Slideshow, where I describe the causes of the Continuation War, as well as the interesting history of the Bristol Blenheim mk.IV Bl-129. The model is a typical short run with PE parts and resin castings. Very interesting painting options (I decided on the most original). I will add for clarification, because some on YT wrote that it is a "German" model. The blue swastika has nothing to do with a certain famous Austrian watercolorist. It was the coat of arms of a Finnish baron, who in December 1918 bought the first plane for the Finnish Air Force with his own money. To honor this, a blue swastika on a white background was placed on the fuselage as a recognition symbol...
Captain R. Will return soon...
Bernard, (@alis), you hit the sweet spot. A lovely diorama, with the figures,grass and back round with the sun. This setup with your historical comment about Swastikas (Native Americans and other cultures used them) gives some meaning into why the Finns used them. Add a short run model smartly done and you have over come the Achilles heel of the molded clear nose and canopy combination makes for winning build. Congratulations, on your build blog, YouTube shorts and article.
@stephen-w-towle
I’m glad that You like my work, article and photos 🙂 Enjoy video!
Capt. R @lis, I missed this build while it was going on. I really like what you were able to accomplish here. It is very well done, a great build. Your photography really enhances and shows off your build. I will have to go back and read the build this is a really good one.
Thank You! @luftwaffe-birdman

Another beautiful diorama added to your shelf, Bernard @lis

Really nice pictures in the sunset.
@johnb
Thank You Jonhn! I wish You back to health and enjoy modelling as soon as possible.
A well done project. Wellington made a good choice for the Finnish finish.
@chasbunch
Wellington is always in position 🙂
Very beautiful build, Bernard @lis. Just cannot ever get used to that canopy🙂
Hello @fxrob ! Do You build Mark IV Airfix kit?
You are become quite the artist, Bernard (@lis), both in your superb models, but also in your photos and videos. Well done on all.
Thank You @gblair !
I hope You will enjoy my next, special project 🙂
Excellent work - did you find it a fun build?
@christopher Yes it was fun build. This was short run but I have less problems with this kit than Airfix.
I found it exactly the same - it was one I really enjoyed building.
Excellent Blenheim! Excellent video and equally excellent build thread!
Congratulations!
Thank You @fiveten ! I
Just started new Interesting Project.
Nicely done! A great-looking Blenheim.
Thank You George!
Nice Blenheim, Captain!
Thank You @j-healy !
G’day @lis,
Nicely done.
I have memories of building the Airfix kit in my youth, although I did a Free French scheme.
I now have the 1/48 Airfix kit and some Finnish decals. It will require a bit of scratch building because the bomb bay is different to accomodate Finnish bombs - no bomb bay doors.
I‘ll keep your colour choice in mind when I build it.
As with other types, the Finns had much more success with the Blenheim and used them for longer than the British.
Liked!
@michaelt Yes so recon plane are easy to build 🙂 1/48 Airfix model looks very cool. Last operational Blenheims was retired in 1957! 🙂
Bernard @lis, beautiful work on your Finnish Blenheim combined with an excellent presentation!
@v1pro Thank You!
