Hasegawa 1/48 F-8E Crusader.
I stuffed this one with all the aftermarket items I could. But I did not find a seamless intake, hence I spent a good time sanding the pieces on the kit to make it as seamless as possible. I rescribed the bottom of the fuselage and scratch built the bridle attachement. All checkers and color stripes were painted except the ones in the pilot´s helmet. (I think I should have included a paired strip red and yellow also in that helmet). I changed bomb loads for the pictures. It seems that this actual plane had the tail section painted but I wanted to show the metal there. I hope you like it.
Double WOW. Outstanding. A masterpiece.
Thank you for your comment.
Really, really nice @rubentorres . For future reference, two companies, one named Steel Beach and Tigerhead models make 1:48 FOD covers for aircraft. Solves the awkwardness of removing intake seams. I made my own for my S-3
Thank you for the suggestion. For this project, since I had the pilot in the cockpit I wanted the intake uncovered. I´ve used the covers in some other models.
Excellent Crusader, Ruben!
Congratulations!
Thank you Spiros.
Beautiful result - you can't go wrong on the Hasegawa Crusaders (the seond release with the raised wing and deployed slats).
What's the address for the company you got the dive brake from?
Hello Tom, I got the Wolfpack set from Sprue Brothers.
That's an impressive Crusader, Ruben @rubentorres
All those extras definitely paid off.
That's a very nice Crusader, Ruben @rubentorres! 👍 Excellent work all around, sir! 👏
In light of how great this work is, it feels a little strange to say that I’m very impressed with the exhaust nozzle! Great effort!
Beauty work on your ‘gun slinger’, Ruben (@rubentorres)
One of my favourite jets, incredible job.
Looks great!
Awesome F-8, Ruben!
