Hobby Boss Mig-17PFU

June 8, 2025 · in Uncategorized · 12 · 266

Hello from Vietnam !

My latest work, Mig-17PFU from Hobby Boss. This kit is a bang for your buck despite few fit issues and simplicity in details here and there

Scratch build seatbelt and add rivets to the airframe, might not 100% correct but aim for a busy look. MrColor paint was used.

  1. A wonderful result on this MiG17, Nguyen @viva
The painting is really good, with a great effect on those various aluminum shades.
Seems like your kids had a wonderful time with the water.

  2. I think the busy look is wonderfully done Nguyen. The finish on the metal shades is perfect. Excellent.

  3. Excellent result, Nguyen!
Your kids had some excellent time as well!

  4. When I grow old, I want to be able to paint a plane this way (I'm only 68)

  5. I really like your NMF work, it is incredibly effective for that subject matter... Great job!

  6. Nguyen (@viva), some strong work on the Hobby Boss Mig-17PFM. It really captures the look and feel of the Mig. The natural metal finish is spot on and represents a aircraft in the field and not fresh from the factory. Looking forward to seeing more of your gifts and talents.

  7. Well done, Nguyen (@viva). Your external natural metal finish is very well done, plus I really like the work you did on the cockpit. I got a chance to sit in the cockpit of a Mig-17, but that was a long time ago. Brings back memories.

  8. That's very nice, Nguyen. A super result with this kit.

(Not a complaint, but info for the future - something I only recently learned - Russian MiG cockpits are grey till you get to the MiG-21MF)

  9. That is some really nice weathering of the NMF - fantastic model.
