Junkers F-13 by MiniArt in 48th Scale
This is the third of five builds that I am doing of corrugated-skinned aircraft. MiniArt has produced several versions of the worlds first airliner and I am delighted that they took up this subject. Detail in this kit is superb. The engineering and instructions have some flaws that make assembly more difficult than it needs to be, so look ahead in the instructions and test fit everything. A full description of the build can be found on Modeling Madness: https://modelingmadness.com/review/civil/airlines/prewar/sumf13.htm
I must credit MiniArt for sending me the correct set of fuselage sides for this version to replace the ones that were in this box without any fuss. In my article, I included and anecdote about a side exchange in the emails regarding the parts. I mentioned that an undesirable at be visited upon Putin. Their reply was that the venue for the act be Hell. I'll expand upon that here by noting that said action was sexual in nature.
As it turns out, said act that occurred this past weekend was probably taken by the Yard Punk as a "sexual" defeat. I think it ranks up there with the IDF on the first day of the Six Day War. Slava Ukraini!
This model is nice enough you have me convinced I'll have to get one. Really excellent workmanship throughout and a great result.
Thanks Tom. The kit is most definitely worth buying. Don't expect it to be a quick build.
Super job
Thanks. I'm very happy to have the model on the shelf.
Excellent work, John. I love stuff like this.
Excellent result and equally excellent article, John!
Thanks again
She looks wonderful, John @jsummerford
While the passengers where relatively enjoying their flight from behind windows, the pilots were still in open air. Not an easy task being a pilot at that time.
Thanks. That was not an unusual arrangement during the 1920s, especially in America.
Those early Junkers were interesting aircraft! Nicely done.
Thanks,
There is enough detail in the kit to get a sense of the engineering Junkers used and built upon over the years.
Looks like a winner - got to get me one of those!
Thanks.
MiniArt has released at least two versions of the kit and I think they have plans for two more. It's worth getting one.
