I am 55 years old and live in the SF bay area. I mostly build in 1/72 aircraft and will sometimes do something in 1/48 if the subject strikes my interest. I am also a volunteer aboard the USS Hornet CV/CVA/CVS-12 in Alameda, CA helping run the radio room and amateur radio station on board callsign NB6GC.
I have just completed this today. This is my 1/72 Tamiya A6M3 Hamp. A very nice kit in 1/72 one of the best I have built to date. As you can see I wanted to paint it in the same markings as the 1/48th one that I built years ago. Painted with Tam[...]
Here is my Hasegawa 1/48 HS-129B-1. This is built OOB with the exception of PE seatbelts. Painted with Gunze acrylics and weathered with pastels, oils, and silver pencil. A very nice kit to build with no problems encountered.
A few years back a friend of mine asked me to build a Korean war aircraft for her father who served on the USS Boxer in Korea. I built her this F4U-5N from Hasegawa to give to her dad. The model is almost OOB, but I did add PE seatbelts. Paints [...]
Ah Yes it worked, well the story is is that a very good friend of mine, Antonio Sobral from Portugal came here to California on business and I met him and we went to a hobby shop when they were having a sale. We Both saw these cheap T[...]
Well, here are the photos of my Tumpeter 1/48 Spiteful. I finished it months ago, but had some life issues and have now only now posted them. I did add the air intake on the cowling, drilled out the exhaust and cannon, added a whip antenna, scri[...]
This is the Academy 1/72 F/A-18C. I built this OOB with the exception of the ejection seat which I believe was from Quickboost. I painted it with Model Master enamels and the decals are from MAW and were excellent. A very nice kit to build and I[...]
This is my recenly built Airfix Mk I kit witht the 3-D conversion kit to make a MK II. (the subsequent Airfix release gives you the Coffman starter bulge to build a Mk II as well). A very nice kit to build some may say the panel lines are too de[...]
Here is my Airfix 1/72 PR XIX. Like Magnus Fridsell, I am a big fan of the Spitfire and an even bigger fan of the Spit in 1/72. I will post more of them if you would like, but they are all on the Spitfre site. This one was built with Quickboost[...]
This is one of my more current buillds but still a bit old as I have not been able to buld much in the past few years because of work. This is the the Acadamy P-51B. I think the decals were Superscale. The paint was Model master OD green faded [...]
This is my latest build completed a few months ago. This is the 1/72 Hasegawa A6M2b Zero. The model is OOB with the exception of PE seatbelts. I used Gunze Mr Color lacquers to paint it and it was weathered with oils, pencils and pastels.
