I'm a 40 and a bit year old Police Sergeant in Christchurch, New Zealand. Prior to this I served as a medic in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. I have 3 daughters, and I've been modelling since I was about 6 years old. I inherited my interest from spending time with my father in his model shed. I mainly do Armor, but will do whatever grabs my attention, as sometimes its good just to have a bit of fun.

Star wars ‘Battle of Hoth’

Anyone who has seen the 2nd Star Wars movie "The Empire Strikes Back" will know this iconic scene. Here I have made it using the Bandai 1/144 scale Snow Speeer and At-At Walker. If you havent made a Bandi kit, do yourself a [...]

IBG 1/35 Quad Bofors anti-aircraft gun tractor

My 2nd (and less stressful) IBG build. This kit went togerher very nicely compared to the Otter kit. This is a good size truck and will go nicely with the Bronco Bofor anti-aircraft gun kit when I finally get it. The biggest let down is [...]

IBG 1/35 Otter light reconnaissance car

This was my first time making a kit from IBG, and nearly my last! Although I got there in the end, the molding of the kit was slightly warped so when you came to putting the body together you needed 5 pairs of hands and you tongue sticking [...]

Casualty Evacuation

My last post was a Tamiya French Armoured carrier UE done in German markings, and again ive converted a 2nd one into captured German markings for a field ambulance. Its a great simple wee kit that is very versatile. The figures are a mix [...]

Captured French Armoured Carrier UE

This is the Tamiya 1/35 French Armoured Carrier UE and German Pak 37. I was looking at some random tank pictures and stumbled over one of a captured French Armoured Carrier UE with a Pak 37 mounted on it. I was very interested in this and [...]

SNIPER FIRE

This is the Acadamy Ontos (which is Latin for 'the thing' - & was affectionately refered to by the Marines as 'the pig') with HobbyFan USMC figures. The base is MiniArt. The Ontos was a cool build but has zero internal detail which is [...]

Vietnam River Crossing *Updated*

Tamiya 1/35 M48 Patton. Just finished this week. I was inspired by a photo I saw of a Patton crossing a very deep river, but modelling water scared me! Was recommended to use Woodlands Scenic Real Water so crossed my fingers and it worked [...]

Wallace & Gromit; and the curse of the were rabbit.

This was an Airfix kit I got some years ago "for my daughter". It's about 1/16th scale I'd guess. Something fun and different to build. Had to convert Wallace from standing to sitting and added some carrots from my daughters 'My [...]

WW1 Model-T Ford Ambulance, Western Front 1918

ICM 1/35 scale with Master box figures. Nice simple little kit that was fun to build. Well except for the decals! Not sure if I just got a bad bunch but they were a nightmare to apply. As soon as they came out of the water they kept [...]

“Covering Fire!”

This is a Tamiya M113 kit I built about 5 years ago. I added a Recoilless rifle off an old Dragon Mule kit and after market accessories from Black Dog and Verlinden. The figures are from Bravo 6 (resin), and are really good. The base is [...]
