Retired (’06) Florida Corrections Officer Sgt., DOB 7-19-46, residing in Port Orange, FL, and a New England (MA) transplant in ’85, a widower, one son, (Chris, a border patrol agent in AZ), and a life-long modeler. Main area of interest is aircraft (40’s – 60’s), although some of the ‘newer’ stuff still catches my eye now and then. I’ve also done NASCAR, armor and a few “floaty things” just for some diversity.
Builds I have NO interest in are airplanes with more than one wing and/or rigging, boats that have sails (and/or rigging) and figures (I suck at painting any kind of figures). Like to travel, am a fair photographer, weekly (or in some cases, ‘weakly’) poker player and an excellent couch potato – my TV time is extensive when not doing “Mr. Mom” stuff.
EDIT: Since I’ve become alone recently, my modeling interest(s) have dropped off dramatically and I no longer have the desire nor the inclination to dabble in plastic modeling any longer. That may change in the future, but I don’t foresee anything happening in that regard. I still look in on other modelers here and will continue to add my .02 to most postings. My email is: [email protected]

Alaskan Beaver Excursion

As some of you may recall, I posted a series of "bucket list" adventures, including a hot air balloon ride and an open cockpit bi-plane flight, among others. I recently discovered another one that I neglected to add. When we planned a trip to Al[...]

I had mentioned recently I had no “stash”…(added pics)

Well, I doubt very much anyone would consider this a "stash", but this afternoon, I took my 40% off coupon to Hobby Lobby and saw these two 'new ones' I hadn't seen there before. I couldn't decide which one to get, so I got 'em both. Now I hav[...]

Z-M 32nd Skyraider

This is the very first build I posted on iModeler. I thought I'd try to take some better photos outdoors (which wasn't easy with the breeze movin' the model). And now that I've seen the pictures, I realize that the room in which I have the mode[...]

All metal Mustang…

Sorry for the "hijacking", but I just HAD to share this exquisite piece of modeling with those of you here who may have missed it on that "other" site. Hope I haven't overstepped any unwritten rules or boundaries by posting this. Here is the ac[...]

48th AH-1 by Tamiya

Forgive the repost, but some of you may not have seen it the first time around, so I wanted jump in on the proverbial 'bandwagon' of the Skyraider "theme". As a rule, I build "generic" representations and don't attempt to replicate an actual air[...]

Revell 1/32nd Bell X-1

Another build from "yesteryear" rescued from the ceiling and the dust monster. This would have been an easy build and wouldn't have taken many man-hours, I'm sure. The [seated] pilot figure was/is one of the best I've seen, as most pilot figures[...]

32nd Me-163 Komet

Another old build rescued from the shelf of the model room, cleaned of dust residue and presented for your dining and dancing pleasure. Another Hasegawa kit (I think), which was a pretty simple and straight forward build with no problems, major [...]

48th S-3 Viking

One of my older builds I decided to take down, wash off and "make nice" - well, as nice as it's gonna get anyway. I looked at some photos of a few S-3's and perhaps I SHOULDN'T have cleaned it - lol I believe it's a Hasegawa kit (I don't recall[...]

B-24D Liberator

The old 1/48th Monogram kit....went together pretty well (don't even have the wings glued in there - pretty snug fit). Had two different tail turrets, but the set of masks I used weren't very specific as to what went where on the turrets. Canop[...]

Monogram B-58 Hustler.. (a repost)

The venerable old Monogram kit is still an accurate (accurate enough for ME, that is) and H-U-G-E model when completed. Gotta have a lotta space if you're gonna build this one. Naturally, no airbrushes were damaged during the assembly of this s[...]
