Yesterday I recived parcel with new B-17. I'm very excited! It's limited edition from 1989y. Very interesting! Decals are yellowed. So I purchase new set of decals.

Many thanks gents @fiveten, @gblair, @johnb, @lis, Today I started to apply the putty on the fuselage and yesterday I completed the wings, I will shoot some picture later this afternoon th show the progress.

@lis: Yes some putty will be required, I think this is coming from the fact that the bomb bay was not properly assembled (entirely my mistake) and your new project looks very promising. I'm eager to see the result with the diorama, the 2 fortress and the crew members.

As promised before here are the photos from the latest progress:

Wings are completed only to glue them together remaining:

The filling and sanding is done on the fuselage:

And I also add the plexi on the nose (and tail but, I forgot to take a photo).

Then I realized that something was missing on this kit. In the movie from William Wyler we saw that Capt Morgan was kissing the Pin p (Margaret Polk) and hanging on what I called 'a pitot tube' (correct me if I'm wrong, no idea what is this device). So I tried to duplicate those pieces by using the flaps pistons.

    and there is the result:

I added a sacrificial nose for the later paint shop.

    Thanks for passing by.

    Great progress, Yann @yann
To my opinion those are indeed pitot tubes, but I could be wrong as well.

Now the Stormovik has finished, it is time to get the Fortress back on the bench.

While I was working on the nose part, I came to the step where I noticed that a flat piece was required to close the chin part of the Fortress.

At the moment I located part 27 on the sprue, I noticed that sprue part 25 next to it did look a lot like the chin turret of a G version.

I looked up the instructions for a Revell B17G version and noticed that they use the same sprues for each model.

With this, I'm thinking about swapping back to my original plan to build the "Sally B" which I have seen in real at Duxford during the Flying Legends airshow in 2019. I do have the decals for that aircraft at hand.
