Most of the assembly is done, but the wings needed some final engraving done on them. I started with the port wing, and scribed all the panel lines for the leading edges. I thought I had the seams all figured out but as you can see I have some work to do on the leading edge. I also had to scribe the nacelles and I am happier with these nacelles then the ones I did on "The Squaw". I hope to do the starboard wing this weekend and basically have the kit fully assembled and ready for paint soon thereafter.
I hit the wing with some Tamiya white primer to get an idea of how it is going to look, and I am really pretty happy abot the scaling of the rivets. Truly in 1/48th scale, rivets would be hardly, if at all, noticeable at any distance. These rivets look to be showing up in a pretty good scale where they will be noticeable but not crazily out of scale.
I am due my quote for printing of the decals from Microscale tomorrow. I had to do some rework correcting scaling and some of the artwork. I regardless of what they quote, I have to thank Microscale ahead of time with their willingness to work with an amateur. Cartograph replied quickly but gave me a whole list of things I would have to change in order for them to print. Microscale on the other hand, also required changes, but also helped out along the way. They have been very helpful to me to understand what I need to do for printing real decals. Special thanks to Vickie Hays, the person I have been working with, she has been very helpful to me in getting to this point.
