I was reading my copy of Slybirds by Rust & Hess and that left me wanting to learn more about the 353rd Fighter Group. A web search produced the photographic odyssey published by Fighting High, Ltd. They had me with the dust jacket image – a color shot of Glen Duncan’s Dove of Peace. Inside, the author, Graham Cross has devoted chapters to the group’s development, the individual squadrons and various highlights of the group’s history.

The photos are excellent and the accompanying captions benefit from the extensive research the author has conducted on the 353rd over three decades. The book is finished to a very high standard. The publisher also released a comparable volume on the 56th Fighter Group, and seeing the quality of this effort, I will be looking into that one as well.
