Have had this engine (1/32) in the stash for some time . This group will be the encouragement I needed to build it.

The kit is a Taurus resin kit with a wooden propeller, it contains 120 parts, wires and painting masks so should be quite a challenge to complete. The instruction sheet is very comprehensive with fine print and drawings ,so the magnifier will get a workout.

    120 parts for a 1/32 engine is a lot, Ian @firelockg
    Looks quite challenging.

Spiros, I am a little apprehensive with this kit, many of the parts are so tiny and fragile, but we shall see.

John, the 120 parts seem a lot but they are mostly duplicates by 7 for the 7 cylinders, I just hope none of them disappear into the modellers black hole ( the floor ).

Cricket, it was the least complicated of the Taurus engine kits, not cheap but what the heck!

    So we begin,

Pic .1.Crankcase and cylinders separated from the printing base.

Pic .2. Crankcase with engine back plate fitted and glued on. The engine back plate is only .5mm thick at the perimeter and was removed from the printing base with a razor saw, as will all the parts in this kit.

    Pic .3. Cylinders fitted.

Pic .4. engine airbrushed with Vallejo 69 063 steel .

Pic .5. Small engine parts hand painted prior to fitting, should be lots of "fun", many of the parts have a spare or two, kit manufacturer must expect some to take off.

    Great progress, Ian @firelockg
Those parts are indeed amazingly small, good to have some spare ones available.

Tappet rods and valves installed, lost 1 tappet rod , but found it on the bench when I had them all in. Some of the valve stems got a little bent when being fitted, shall straighten them when the heads go on.

Cricket, I think the difficult bit is fitting the rockers and springs, as have to make the springs. Wire and jig supplied, shall post photo when I get to that. The valve lifter rods supplied are .5mm resin and very fragile, so I think I shall replace them with brass rod, which should also look better than painted resin as well as stronger.
