Finally this kit has arrived to my local shop, so I'm in. I've decided to build a very little (compared to 1/32 and 1/48 beasts) Phantom in 1/144 scale.
This kit is very simple, only one paint scheme, so my build should not be very interesting, but anyway...
Fuselage was glued together β no issues here. Maybe the main issue of this kit is that canopy part lacks canopy frames, so I've spent some time on masking.
To be continued... π

Wow - small fry! My old friends rag on me for sticking with 1/72 when I can't see what I'm doing without my lighted magnifier - I can't imagine modeling in this scale! Looking forward to seeing it.
Looks sharp already.
Primed and ready for painting.

On a whim, I did one of those - ONCE - never again (too small). Look here:
1/144th F-4 Phantom
@craigindaytona Your Phantom looks good anyway, Craig! I'm also not a big fan of 144 scale β this is my third model in this scale.
Looking good, love your paint stand.
Paint works has started π
Painted! I'll apply a gloss coat and then a decals. Well-known academy decals π
Done! From now this is the littlest airplane on my display shelf. Final images will be on August as it should due to GB rules. Thanks!

I just picked up an F model in Luftwaffe colors just like this at a contest this past weekend. I just finished my Norm72 scheme recce Phantom, so will probably take a break before starting another, but looking forward to building it. What colors did you use? - I don't have any references yet for this scheme.
@gkittinger Light gray color - Tamiya XF-20, other two darker camo colors is Gunze paint, but I don't remember exact numbers, because I've picked them just by comparing my paints with FS colors given in instruction. Conversion tables was giving strange results.
Ok - thanks! Yeah - I've had challenges with conversion tables also! The gray indicated for my RF-4E Norm72 scheme ended up darker than I think it should be, and I even lightened it a bit!
