Thanks, Greg. Much better after the remedial dental work - maybe a change of career for me in the future...

Redefining modeling tedium. Never more will I complain about sanding...

Wrapping .75 scale rope around the pulpit rails. What. A. Job.

Looks good, though. Nicely to scale and looks like it’s been there forever. The rigging line is from ‘Caldercraft’ - fine product, recommended, and cheap.

Bound the hand rails at the top of the ladders, also.

Ha, “tie me a sheep shank, Hooper...”

...I think I may have reached critical mass in terms of sanity on this project.

Love the Jaws rack you made. You should be proud of the effort, after all...it could have been worse! 🙂

Hmmm, I detect some subliminal messaging with the X-acto knife and the knot. Then the motorcycle stuff and James Dean comes to mind. Marriage and tying the knot ...smoking and leather Jackets . For some people eating a slice of Cheese Cake is wild enough. This modeling thing is becoming a metaphor for rebellion and living dangerously or its good fun.

“Only the names have been changed to protect the guilty” - ah, old age is a terrible thing.

"Youth is wasted on the young". Which I would strongly debate...its out there. Of course if your thinking is inline with being young your in good standing. Yeah, its the parts that wear out. I lean toward thinking that modeling can help stem some of the tide of growing old.

Making a pitch to take over as the team shrink, Stephen? Fishing the dark undercurrents of scale modeling...metaphors, subliminal imagery, and subversive messages...sounds intriguing.

Experimenting with letting go of the ‘neat freak’ stuff...not easy. Seriously, this was as messy as I could allow the bench to get before something bad would happen.

Tidied up the deck, re-covered the barrel rails (the previous rope was just too out of scale).

Won’t be long before I get to sealing and painting.

    David,
Just spectacular. And you know…it's getting to that time of year when we pour a cocktail and watch the movie. Every July 1, that's my movie of choice.

David @dirtylittlefocker, I see perfect alignment of things on your bench. A place for everything and everything in it's place for the time being. Nothing wrong with that! Have an adult beverage...you've earned it.

Stephen @stephen-w-towle has the right idea!
