Made a change of plans to the top brace. It is now thicker to accommodate recessed joints.

    Peter,
    @tecko

You are really making some great progress with this... I'm amazed at how you engineer each new step along the way. You my friend are a master craftsman... I am thoroughly enjoying watching this bridge come to life.

Well done, and I'll be looking forward to your next update !

    Thanks, Louis @lgardner.
You are moving along real fast yourself. This time next year you will probably be leading the most entries for the iModeler at the Movies. ๐Ÿ™‚

'Minder' is helping me align these piers.

My hand drilled holes are not really at ideal angles, but the diameter is correct. To align the piers, I have to trim parts of the dowel, that goes into the base, so it will align correctly. Also, I had to cut the piers a little bit shorter, hence the jar of stumps. The small jars contain shavings and stubs. These will be used in the diorama. The stubs will become seats and blocks to bust up for firewood. The shavings will be darked and used for debarking waste.

    One step back too far.

Because the wooden block template was too thick for tighter areas, I made another template out of card. On the card is a plan showing which set of piers have horizontal braces.

    So far.

Well, the weekend is over for me. Time to clear the bench to work on the Wardell Bridge project.

Did some more work on the bridge tonight.
Used a measured card to position the horizontal braces.

It takes a few hours just to get these extra pier sets in. Hope you guys don't mind seeing small progress updates.

Before I started installing the piers, I redrilled the outer holes with a slight lean. This helped me to minimize the amount of trimming of the pier ends. However, today I came across a hole which was drilled too deeply. 'Minder' came up with a solution.

    So far:

Wow Peter, that's looking great. I'm in awe at just the progress thus far. I can hardly wait to see how this progresses.

Thanks Gary. Just finished with installing the tressel piers, but too tired to post photo (it's after 1 am). Will update after a sleep.

Well, the tressel piers are installed. I won't put any cross braces in until the land fill is placed inside. I will be using condensed foam left-overs from the Wardell Bridge project.

The next step is the cantilever portions of the bridge. I will have to remember to not complete it, for it's supposed to be still under construction ๐Ÿ™‚

    Peter,

You're definitely a genius of engineering, electronics, and miniature bridges building!

I'm in a awe each time I see new pics of your progress!

    Cheers!

Needed a jig-template for leaning in the cantilever piers. Then suspended the template on straight aluminium angle, at same height as the tressels.

'Minder' discovered a misplacement. Can you see it?

In process of cutting notches for cross member for mid-piers.
