Now that my F-111 build is complete I'm back on my J.S. builds.

Assembly complete, seams cleaned up, canopy added, trimmed and masked. Ready to prime tomorrow.

Yes, I have never minded masking canopies myself.

Fresh from the spray booth.
After the first coat of Mr. Surfacer 1500 primer I had to fix some problem seams. Repainted these areas.
Not perfect but moving forward!

No clue why but I thought I'd add a shot of my work area.

You and me both Gary. I have never gotten people's reluctance about doing their own canopy masks, but then I started before commercial masks came along, so there was little alternative. I suspect you did, too.

Agreed, Tom! And I did start prior to commercial masks and for that matter vac formed canopies, photo-etch, etc. LOL
I have used masks, and they are "nice", but I don't mind doing my own. I put on some good music or podcast and I have at it. Kind of a Zen moment.
Now if someone could come up with a quick alternative to filling seams and sanding I'd be the first on board.

Nice work area, Gary (@gwskat). Looks like a good place to get some work done. The primer looks nice and smooth. Looking forward to the paint. I also started out in the old days when things like pre-made canopy masks were still years away. I don't mind doing my owns masks, but I am a big appreciator of pre-made masks as a time saver.

Your working area is really great, it is so much easier to have a fixed area where you can leave your equipment instead of having to dismantle everything once your done.
