project ended, model went to trash

Problem was the landing gear, too many parts and too fragile, my dad followed the instructions but couldn´t get the gear alligned correctly, one misalignement led to another. My dad tried to save the model somehow but he didn´t succeed. He salvaged some part groups from the unfinshed model in case he dares a new attempt on an Eduard F4F someday.

Pity that the model had to be trashed, my friend @grimreaper!

A real pity to see it trashed, Reinhard @grimreaper
Was there no option to build it with retracted gear?

    That’s too bad Reinhard 🙁
You can always try the good old Tamiya kit, I had no issue with the landing gear in place… 8 years in the shelf and still on its feet.
I will try the FM-2 version Eduard announced and see how tricky those UC legs can be

My dad didn´t think of wheels up, maybe would have been a possible resolution. Hobby Boss and Tamiya landing gears are easier.

Well, he´s waiting for a Weekend Edition to be released. As mentioned my dad kept some stuff, the canopy masks, cockpit and engine. He´s waiting for a Weekend Edition and will then try it again.

Not the first model that didn´t make it to finish and for sure not the last...

Well, Lazarus rose from the dead earlier than expected 😄

Bought the recently released Eduard F4F-3 Weekend Edition. As mentioned kept some part (groups) from the previous attempt, like the cockpit tub. Gonna use markings from the Hobby Boss F4F-3 early kit.

Good luck with the Weekend kit. Now I’m getting apprehensive about the gear construction with the FM-2 version I just acquired.
