Are you using CA glue for that?

My dad usually puts the thread to the plastic and then applies the CA glue with a wooden toothpick to the joint. In general he applies CA glue with a toothpick. EZ line or any other elastic thread reacts instantly with the glue. In rare cases my dad also uses fishing line, but it takes some time and way more amount of glue until it bonds with the glue.

I'm using Ushi van der Rosten myself which is also elastic like EZ line.
The fishing line looks nice as well.
