A great start on the Emils, Louis @lgardner
The E variants have always been my favorite 109s.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind words. I tend to lean towards the F version of the 109 as my favorite. The E is next, and then the G series. But I think they are all cool !

Please stand by for another update.

Here is what happened last night on the Emil builds. These are some pictures of the Tamiya E-3 kits. I have three of them underway now for the group.

Previously I had a single Tamiya E-3 under construction. I pulled two more down from the stash and started gluing them together.

This shows the various parts after they were glued together and prepped for paint.

This shows the completed cockpit assemblies from two different angles. They are now ready for a coat of RLM 02 and some seat belts.

Then it will be time to glue the fuselage halves together. I really like these Tamiya Emil's in 1/48 scale. The number of parts is just right for a quick and easy build. The fit is exceptional too.

Hopefully tonight I will have another installment. Time will tell.

    As always, comments are encouraged.

    Thank you for stopping by.

Hi Louis (@lgardner): Your assembly line looks very busy. The early versions of the 109E are all cool. I have a 1/32 109E-3 coming up soon, probably in markings from the Phoney War.

I arrive a bit late to your ironwork party Louis, but I can catch up really fast.
The Tamiya 109 is still a pretty good kit, and as you mention builds fast and trouble free.
I also have that Trautloft 109 E-1 box from Hasegawa in the stash but quite frankly their approach to convert the standard E-3 wing that comes in the box back to a E-1 using the resin plugs is not a good option to me, that was the reason I bought and built Wingsy 109 E-1 which is a far superior kit and comes with the proper MG wing.

However I’m sure you have better skills than me so getting the Hasegawa kit done as an E-1 will be a fun project for us to see.

Glad I could help, only now did I see the JG53 emil on that picture I sent you. It’s also a E-1 and provides a sweet camouflage scheme to build also 😉

Keep that production line running my friend!

NICE! fitting a few builds in amongst all the others. Don't know how you do it. But the quality never lacks. Looking good, Louis.
