Seeing George Blairs neat Thunderstreak got me thinking I should join the build group since I do have a few kits to choose from.

I think I also have an old Italaerei 1/72 Republic F-84F Thunderstreak and a Heller F-84G kicking around somewhere but I cannot find it.

I do have a old Italaerei Thundersreak in my display case from 1980's...WAY BACK when I was a young'un.

Maybe I'll strip that old build down and refurbish it...Nahhh.

I can't guarantee how quick I'll be building and posting but the group will be great motivation.

I'll be going with a simpler yet not to simple build of the Trumpeter (#80247) F-84G. It is an 'Easy Assembly' kit, but has very nice detailing.

1/72 scale . You’re a brave soul. I’d love to see them all as part of the build.

Decent looking parts, 54 count in total. That's a little surprising for an 'Easy' kit.

Decals look okay, just like other Trumpeter decals used in the past and they have worked very well with other kits..

Nice detail on components, canopy looks a bit thick but the tracing looks nice and light.

Nothing too scary, Matt (@coondog). I wish, but a bit too busy to do all 4 builds, and a few other kits already started.

The newer Italeri and Tamiya kits and this Trumpeter kit all come with decals for Joe Davies' "Four Queens' aircraft FS-454.

The Trumpeter kit decals are 'red, yellow and black' striping while some image searches show 'red, yellow, blue' striping.

As a comparison, here some photos of the parts from the Tamiya kit.
Tamiya as more parts for the forward fuselage and cockpit.
I may need to borrow decals from the Tamiya or Italeri kit if I'm actually going to finish as FS-454 bird.

There is a few down sides with the 'Easy' Trumpeter kit, as in the cockpit and seams that will need to be sanded down.
As a trade off, I'll get to the painting stage earlier.

Nice comparison of the various kits, George @georgeswork. I suspect any of them can be built into a decent reproduction of the F-84, but I think the big difference is how much work each requires to bring it across the finish line. I have built a couple of the "Easy Kits" and they build into nice models. Looking forward to your F-84.

Thanks gents, I'll just do the HB 'Easy Assembly' kit for now, but I'm not decided with which decals I'll choose.
To Allan (@kalamazoo), how confident are you about using the HB decals? I does look nice as a straight winged T-Bird. I just not convinced the HB decals are the best choice, but they would make good masking template.
