Hull looks very nice, Keith (@greenterrorz). Your paint and fading look realistic. I have always been intrigued by the multi-use ships of the IJN, especially this one.

A very nice technique, Keith @greenterrorz
The results of it are superb.

The preshading of the deck works well Keith (@greenterroz). It's one of those techniques I am glad I discovered . Looking forward to seeing more of this build.

It looks like you have a full menu of models to build, Keith (@greenterroz). Besides the Mogami, it looks like some 1/48 Tamiya armor, and 1/48 Zero. You have a lot of stuff to do.

    Thank you @johnb @fiveten.

I agree @clipper. The way my models have turned out after discovering pre shading is exceptionally nicer imo.

@gblair oh it you only saw my stash haha. The kit in the background is the Tamiya - “Luftwaffe crew winter”. There are a few figures in the kit that I plan on converting to Imperial Japanese Navy deck hands for the final shot of all 3 Japanese planes. In total I plan on having the 3 planes, 7-8 figures, and a few other small accessories on the deck.

More work done on the Mogami.

Crane/Lifts to extract seaplanes from the ocean:

Upper deck cleaned up to make room for PE deck:

    PE deck glued down:

All three decks on the ship. Flight deck and middle deck not going to be glued down until they are completely painted with superstructures ready to be attached:

    Thanks my friends @johnb @fiveten

Got a significant amount of stuff done last night:

Pretty close to doing the superstructure which is a TON of PE.

Sorry it’s been so long on an update for this build. I’m dedicating most of my time to another build at the moment, but once it’s done - I’ll jump back on this one.

In other news…. I got a package in today..

These 1/350 IJN crew resin prints from BlackCatModels are highly detailed. I am extremely pleased with how they turned out. They will be featured in all my upcoming 1/350 IJN builds.
