Came to the conclusion …..that this is not the type of quay i want.

I will make another one.

Odorless turpentine and oil paint wash ,
When dry….. i clean the wash off that is left on the bricks ,and seal it with Acrylic Matt varnish.
Toned down the individual brick colors , sprayed the concrete covered road several shades of gray……
all sealed with a semi gloss varnish ,ready for the washes .
Hi Maarten, I really like what you are doing here, truly a masterpiece!
Painted individual bricks by adding only yellow, red and black to the base color ,all will be toned down after weathering.
the light grey is the base color for the concete road and granit steps.
QuaySide is made from thin resin slabs with brick pattern
glued on to blue xps foam board .
wooden mooring poles are also cast from resin .
(from homemade moulds)
Maarten, that looks great. I really like the idea. Diorama possibilities seem endless, so your ability to choose one is commendable. (At least to a guy like me who can’t seem to make up my mind about such things.) 🙂
Thanks Gary .
For the Diorama …..something like this,
Still need more figures .

The deck was cnc machined from 1mm thick styrene sheet …..the flood slits on the side of the boat are done with a punch an di set .
I just stumbled across this thread, and WOW – beautiful work! I have to go all the way back to the first post I saw – how did you get that deck so nicely slotted? Was that 3D printed? Punch and die work?
Testing how wooden bollards would look ,many different configurations.
When i decide to make them for the U-Boot diorama .
