A coat of Future sealed the paint...

The exhausts were also drilled out for added realism... Thanks for stopping by!

    Nice progress, Spiros @fiveten
The drilled exhausts do look much more realistic now.
You made me aware that I overlooked this.

@tcinla, thanks Tom. For the main color I used Vallejo 71.321 (IJA Light Grey Green) which should match the original color as well.

Advantage of a combo build is to learn from each other.
Or in this case, if you forget something which does add realism.
Thanks to Spiros @fiveten I noticed that I forgot to open the exhaust pipes.
So this is what I did and in the meantime also the airintake on the front of the nacelle.

    And onto some decaling...

Decals took many minutes to detach from their backing sheet, but behaved really well.
The engine is more or less ready, as well.
    Thanks for stopping by!

Your drilled out details look much more realistic, my friend @johnb!

Looking great with the details applied, Spiros @fiveten
They follow nicely the panel lines.
Difficult for me to keep up this pace 🙂

Thanks my friends @johnb and @lis!
Decals indeed followed all panel lines without the help of any decal softener whatsoever; and they are almost 30 years old!

Quite disbelief! Decals must have very good quality!

Yes, decals were excellent, my friend @lis. their backing paper had yellowed a tad, but it is not noticeable due to the hue of the back ground color.
Here is the Zero with decaling finished:

She looks amazing already, Spiros @fiveten
I do hope that my decals will act equally.

    Engine upgrade
After seeing the sparkplug wire addon done by Spiros @fiveten, I decided to do that as well. Luckily the engine was not mounted yet.
For the 'cables' I used one string of twisted electrical wire and glued them with Revell contacta glue.

Spiros (@fiveten): Markings look awesome and really seem to work well on the panel lines and other detail. For old decals, they performed exceptionally.
John (@johnb): Engine looks great and quite convincing. Wires add a lot.

Looking forward to the rest of both builds.
