Last night I managed to get some work done on the WNW Pfalz D-3. I recently ordered some Quinta Studio stuff for some of my various Great War projects and also for some of the upcoming ones.

This is my first time using this kind of stuff.

The rear side is not yet covered. Hopefully this will be done soon. I’m really liking how this looks.

This also happens to be my first time using decals for lozenge fabric.

This is a good closeup to show how nice the decals are snuggling down to the surface. I’m also doing another first.

I picked up some Mr Mark Setter and Softer. I’m using it for my very first time.

I’m happy to report that it is working very nicely.

You can also see how the WNW kit has molded in rib stitching. They will be covered with some WNW rib tape once I get the whole wing covered.

I’m having a blast working on this project.

This is a great build Louis, excellent work with the decals, have used Quinta additions myself and find them excellent.

The prop came out looking really nice, Louis (@lgardner). It is impossible to tell that it is a decal. Fabric decal also looks like it went down well. I have used the Mr Mark products for decals and have found them similar in strength to MicroSol/Set. I have never seen the Quinta decals for props.

Hello John ! Yes these are regular decals for the lozenge fabric, and I have been using warm water to loosen them from the paper. Then I use the setting solution to hold them down and the softening agent to make them conform to the details in the plastic. These were originally printed and sold by Wingnut Wings. You can still find them available through several hobby stores and various online auction places. I have a feeling that once they are gone, they will be gone for a long time.

Hello again George. Thank you for the compliment on the prop. Last night I managed to finish it up. I am very happy with how it turned out. I could never have painted it and made it look this nice, because of the different colored laminations. If it was a solid carved prop, I might have been able to do this and make it look convincing enough. But not so with the two different wood species used for the laminations.

This is my first time using the Mr Mark products. I have only used solvaset prior to this. I am very happy with how these prop decals turned out. I will be doing the prop for the Voss Albatros soon, so please stay tuned for that one too. Thanks again.

Now you are almost wrapping up your Fokker D-VII, I say go for it with the LVG. It's not even necessary to finish up the Fokker first... that is purely up to you to decide if you want to add it here or not.
