This is a short (hopefully!) article on my building an IAI Ffir. I've always loved the look Kfir (roughly translating from the Hebrew as "young lion" or "lion cub". I made the old Esci/Israeli offering in 1/48th. When they first came out, Esci were willing to tackle subjects other manufacturers wouldn't touch in that scale.
Anyway, back on subject. When I saw a Kfir build on the internet I was very impressed, but when I saw it was in 1/32 and that it was a conversion kit, it became a "must build" for me. As I had bought in a few of the Mirage III's from Italeri (some were the Revell reboxing), I was able to track down the Aztec conversion (expensive, but not if you think of how much work goes into making the masters/time spent drawing up the plans for 3d printing and that a profit must be made be made, then the cost becomes more reasonable. At least that's what I told myself) from Hannants. Unusually for me, I started cutting plastic almost as soon as the Aztec set arrived.
Normally I like to photograph the model during construction, so much fun was packed into those boxes that I forgot to take any...
So here's some of my progress so far, I hope that you like what I've done so far.
The first pic show that I have literally put blood into this one!
