Aces II Ejection seats complete. Seats are just dropped in the cockpit. They actually don't sit flush with the bulkhead so when I glue them in place I will have a gap between each seat and the bulkhead behind them.

Surrprisingly, the Reskit open exhausts do not have the detail on the outer portion of the burner cans while the Revell one does though as you can see the afterburners are less detailed. To fix this I used two widths of masking tape to create the detail. Let's hope once I prime them they will look the part.I also like the fact the burners are more open on the Reskit ones.

Those exhausts look super, my friend @totalize! Great way to render the outer portion details!

Nice correction on the resin exhausts, David @totalize
    They are very detailed indeed.

It is amazing how detailed jet exhausts have become, David @totalize. In the 50s and 60s, they were basically smooth, and now there is a bunch of structure to model. Well done.

Progress Update. Got some work done on this build over the Christmas holidays. Here's a few shots of my progress with the base colours done. Mr. Color Gunship Grey and AK Interactive Chrome used here. Thought I would add some visual interest by painting the Speed brake as a replacement from a F-15C. These 1/48 jets are big. As big as some 1/32 scale kits.

The airbrake looks really good as does the chrome painting.

Excellent choice David, when this kit came out in the 90's it was the most accurate early production F-15E, the Hasegawa and Academy Echos were just parts added to their existing F15D's with incorrect cockpits. The Revell kit was an Echo from every aspect. At the time the details in the cockpit was so good it didnt need any upgrades or resin replacement. But with the latest mods since added to the airframe. Those are needed now to bring it up to the latest standard. But ok to leave it as it is if doing a Desert Storm era Strike Eagle. The only gripe was that Revell in their base kit no weapons. They did release a Pro modeler version with weapons. I have been itching to build mine. It is a large plane. So space is limited. Your off to a great start.
