When did I start this...I dunno. Why did I quit and Shelf of Doom it...I dunno. According to Scalemates, this is a 2010 repop of a Hobbycraft 1992 release. Its a "Limited Edition - Heinz Bär" with gimicky camouflage decals for wings and fuselage but I'm not going there. I'll get a picture of the decal sheet shortly. Anyhoo...here's where I left off...

    ...and where I am now

This is a better showing of the RLM02 mix I did, Tamiya XF-22 RLM Grey, XF-49 Khaki - 1:1 with a few extra drops of grey to match the Gunze bottle of RLM02 I have

I'll start detail painting in a bit

The deecls. I've read that the camouflage ones work great. Note the canopy frames as well...tempted. They are by Cartograf so not surprised that they work well

WOW George, those are gimmicky decals and I kind of agree, leave them where they are.

Just as a matter of interest, how much more have you got on that "Shelf of Doom!"

Impressive set of decals, George @blackadder57
Never seen camouflage being provided this way.
    Looking forward to this Emil.

I'm not sure I have ever seen this kit, George (@blackadder57). The outside detail looks good, but the inside detail looks a little "soft". The decals are interesting.

Here you go Vic @vicbalshaw possibly a handful more... https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/how-many-unfinished-kits-do-you-have.38673/page-10?post=2014795#post-2014795

Soft indeed, George @gblair and a right pain in the keester painting the details with one eye. So far I've done the right side panel and started on the seat

Crikey George that's 3 time more than I have in my stash. Going to keep you out of mischief for a while.

Always a great thing to get stuff from the Shelf of Doom and finish them, my friend @blackadder57! Looking forward to it!

Innards almost done. I've seen three different views on details so I went with what would be easiest on my vision. Seat details are very soft so it is what it is. IP dials "painted" with a sharpend round toothpick; about three dabs per dial. Wash done with my custom mix and flat coated with Army Painter Anti-Shine Matte. Chipping done with a mechanical pencil and going to do some on the side panels once the flat coat is dry

Great result on those interior parts, George @blackadder57
To me the seat looks nicely detailed, and so do the other parts.

The interior colors look really good. You did a nice job painting the details.

Thank you. Togetherness is being achieve. I've only found one build on this kit and the modeller had problems with the interior fitting together and then bringing everything else together. There are only two small nubs on the floor to aid locating the side panels and after much fussing about I gave up. Doing some pondering I decided to attach the panels to the fuselage halves, ensuring the top of the panels line up with the opening

The IP also has no positive locating points so a whack o' CA always does the trick

I let these dry for a bit and then hit the first challenge, fuselage togetherness. Just a dry fit but it looks very good, maybe a wee bit of mud on the front but force will also work; not a big fan of force

Things are really coming together, George (@blackadder57). I always worry about trying to glue cockpit side panels onto the floor, and then have them miraculously end up meeting the fuselage sides perfectly aligned. I prefer the same method you use. Glue them to the fuselage first, and then you know they are where they are supposed to be. A little bit of force goes a long way toward making things fit, but just a little too much force and you have more gluing to do.
