hi everyone. It’s been awhile since I have posted anything or even peeked at this site.

I have been scrambling cleaning out the garage … again … I was heII bent on making it the shop my husband and I intended it to be. I also just finished clearing out, paining and reorganizing the bedroom. I wanted to get as much done as I could before winter comes. And it’s knocking at the door, 31 F this morning.

I sold both our vehicles which was sad as we bought them together, but that gave me a bit of a windfall so I bought this kit.

It arrived Saturday in to large heavy boxes containing 12 smaller box with a total of 100 packs of parts. I also purchased an aftermarket detail set of hardware etc etc from the same guy that I got the Pocher Ducati from. It will take a couple weeks to get them because he is out of town. These parts and his ideas/suggestions will add unprecedented detail to this kit.

I had considered the Pocher Porsche but heard bad things about it so I bought this one instead.

Anyway, i spent the last hour and a half cataloging all the 100 parts packages and ready for a great winter project … in the nick of time : )

So here are 3 pics, this thing will be HUGE, the body is all metal…

Stay tuned, same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel ; )

Bit of a Porsche fan myself and this looks like a nice exciting kit, possibly a bit out of my reach price wise but looking forward to seeing it all come together.

@vicbalshaw Thanks Vic, yeah it was pricey, the detail set was as well. I needed a diversion and a bit of extra cash so I got it. I will have to build an addition to the house to build and house it ; )

    Thank you for your comment

The 917 is probably the greatest Porsche ever and this looks like a great kit, Cricket @bikequeen. You must watch Steve McQueen’s Le Mans movie to get in the mood to build it.

@fiveten Thank you Spiros it’s been a bittersweet year, have gotten a lot done and models have taken a backseat to everything. Now that things are slowing down i am looking forward to this build

What a beast. Those first 917s were going over 200mph on the straight aways ways with out the safety features that the Hamiltons of today enjoy. Jackie Stewart had to fight for safety features. The Guys who drove these cars were either brave or nuts. However, 917s are the definition of cool. Steve McQueen cool.

Happy to see you back at the bench Cricket @bikequeen. Your gifts and talents are appreciated. The dollar bills in the photos brought a LoL.

@stephen-w-towle Thank you sir…yeah I fell in love with this car when I first saw the film. I have a small poster of it with McQueen. I thought I tossed it but found it while tearing apart the bedroom and painting it.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it will be a few weeks before I’m officially back ; ))

I’ve been studying the detail set instructions and the scale hardware will add so much to the build, here are a couple of photos as an example. Pics are courtesy of Paul Koo
