I’ve given up on my Italeri Bugatti for now, finding it too frustrating.
So, on with the next build. The Tamiya Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 in 1/24 scale. I bought two of these, the plan being to a) have a spare in case they are no longer available, and b) build one OOB and detail the second with carbon fibre decals and after-market detail if available.

I haven’t decided what colour it will be. I’ll pop into my local hobby shop today and see what nice modern colours they have.

So far I’ve sprayed the chassis and applied gold heat-proof coating to the firewall. As gold is so expensive, I’ve used foil from a chocolate bar. Yum.

Decided on a pearl blue, the Tamiya Red Bull colour.

Very nice choice and a great start, Kevin @injidup
I do hope you still find energy to continue the Bugatti in the near future.

Small update today, mostly painting bits for the engine.
This is an amazing kit, really enjoying the quality of manufacture and instructions compared to a certain European brand!

More work on the interior and engine today. Messed up the stripe on the seat, though, and only noticed after I’d sprayed matt clear, so it’s set now.

Couldn’t help trying the final colour on a bit of the bodywork. Tamiya TS-89 mica blue, designed for the Red Bull RB6 F1 car, which has been in the stash for some years now! The colour looks great in the winter sun.

The bodywork is interesting on this car. It’s not one piece like most models, but is various panels fixed to a carbon-fibre skeleton. Lots of panels to paint!

That Mica Blue’s a nice colour, Kevin @injidup. The body assembly seems similar to the McLaren Senna.

A little more work done on the T.50, the engine is almost finished and is mounted in the chassis. Have also painted a few more body panels in TS-89 Mica Blue. The paint looks amazing in the winter sunshine here in the southern hemisphere.
