World War II

Spitfire MkVI

This is my newest model Aircraft. Spitfire Mark six was not the best or the most favourable variant but I want to make it because it is unique and it’s ways. This is one of my foot-long’s built from scratch. Built from Pine.

Tamiya F4U-1A, 1/48. Two Planes in One.

The final aircraft from the Corsair trio build is one that represents the 3rd largest operator of the Corsair, the Royal New Zealand Air Force whom operated the type from land bases in 1944/45. In 1942 the RNZAF began to operate in [...]

Tamiya F4U-1C, 1/48. The Sky Pirates.

One omission from the plethora of Corsair models out there is the F4U-1C, in fact there isn't even a company that offers a resin conversion set for this type. Not wanting to miss out on the only -1 variant I haven't yet built I decided to [...]

Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair, 1/48. Ira Kepford's Jolly Roger.

I've always loved the Corsair, particularly the mid-war four-tone scheme, and last year I built my first one which was Tom Blackburn's 'Big Hog'. A year later I wanted to do a new Corsair because I felt my skills had improved and I wanted [...]

IJN seaplane tender Kamoi

dear friends, this weekend I completed two jobs that I have been working on for months, you saw the first one yesterday (U-boo type VIIc), this was much more challenging. The IJN seaplane tender Kamoi by Niko model was buil out of the box [...]

Airfix 1/72 Bristol Beaufort.

Another gem of a kit from Airfix. Flawless fit from start to finish. Built from the box, apart from an Eduard harness I added to the pilot seat. Finished in MRP paints, with some oils for final weathering. A highly enjoyable build, it took [...]

Me262 Night Fighter 1/48th Dragon

I finished this kit a few years back. Simply said, it is no Tamiya! I have not built a lot of Dragon model kits, but what I have built have all had the same trait. Basically subcomponents or assemblies fit together well, but when you [...]

1/48 Bristol Beaufighter Mk VIF – Malta 1942

My first attempt at an article or work in progress on this site, please bear with me! Recently purchased (more like invested) in a Harder-Steenbeck Infinity airbrush and decided to try this out on a new kit build; this Tamiya classic [...]

Classic Airfix Typhoon (1959) Tweaked Just a bit

On this kit I used a replacement Falcon vacu-form canopy, a prop and wheels from the Academy kit. Paint by Tamiya. Even thought it is over 60 years old it does scale well on a Bentley plan. This was a simple and fun build.

1/700 USS Miami CL-89

This is a resin kit that included a few sheets of PE details that I built almost completely out of the box. I did add after-market 5"/38 guns and turrets as well as 40mm Bofors, and 20mm Oerlikon guns. I've found that photoetch AA is [...]
