World War II

Former Brazilian Jug

Before Spitfirepalooza, there was “I Like Jugs.” My 1/72 Spitfire collection is a bit larger than my P-47 one but, my 1/48 P-47 collection wins (for now, those Eduard overtrees I just bought will turn the tide when done). This is [...]

KAWASAKI Ki61-I Hei HIEN (Tony) 1/32 scale model, Hasegawa kit.

KAWASAKI Ki61-I Hei HIEN (Tony) 1/32 scale model, Hasegawa kit. Built out of a box, except the aftermarket seatbelts, copper wire brakelines and MM gun barrels. 6th "Shinten Seikutai", 18th Flight Regiment, Lt. Mitsuo Koyake, [...]

I Remade My Oldest Surviving Childhood Model Kit

An old and flawed kit, but one that has a special place in the memory banks for me - when I was 12 we were told we could have a home made mascot on our desks for end of primary school exams. I persuaded my parents to get me a Flying [...]

Gentile’s P-51

Here’s my interpretation of Don Gentile’s P-51 “Shangri-La” using the Tamiya 1/48 kit. It’s another build from some years ago to add to my iModeler archive. I used the Aires cockpit set for this one.

M4A1 Sherman

I got this model for a model display I was going to have with my friends. I really enjoyed building it. The Sherman is one of my favorite tanks. This is the other model I have for VJ Day.

Motor Torpedo Boat PT-109

I received this model a while ago as a gift. It was the first model of that company I ever got. It was also one of the first models I got. I really enjoyed putting it together. This is one of two models I got for VJ Day.

1/32 scale Hasegawa Nakajima Ki44-II Hei SHOKI (Tojo) kit

?✈️ 1/32 scale Hasegawa Nakajima Ki44-II Hei SHOKI (Tojo, Demon Killer) kit. 3rd Squadron, 70th Flight Regiment, Captain Yoshio Yoshida. Kasihwa A.F, Japan, 1945. It was a really great pleasure to build this aircraft. Built using the [...]

Macchi C.202 Folgore - 21° Gruppo Autonomo C.T. - 1943

Bonjour dear iModelers, I wanted to make a "full options" model, with difficult camouflage, just to test my possibilities. My choice fell on the MC.202 Folgore d'Hasegawa, re-boxed by Eduard in 2016 in Limited Edition (#1132), [...]

A book: Fighters of World War II

This is a book I find myself coming back to every now and then. If you are into american hardware (plus the odd Spitfire) this is a must have. Written by Jeffrey L Ethell and Robert T Sand it is jam packed with mostly Sand's colour photos [...]

1/72 Italeri Henschel Hs-129B-2 (No.1294)

Built straight from the box, with kit decals. Although quite an od kit, and may lack some detail by today's standards, it is still a very nice and easy build.
