Looks good, Spiros. That NY ANG unit was the only unit to use the 30 mm gun pod in combat during Desert Storm. They vibrated terribly and we’re only used briefly during the first few days of the conflict.

Here’s two Airfix F-16s that I built in 1989. I wasn’t very good with clear coats back in the day, LOL. The decals were from Superscale when they were pumping out new sheets monthly. Interestingly, the 169th bird from the SC ANG was in Saudi Arabia with the NY 174th featured on your sheet.

Went through your build Spiros, @fiveten, the critical eye of the your QC department seemed to think you did a good job. I would agree, this is a good looking build of a really pretty looking jet. It really does have pleasing lines.

    Thanks my friend @luftwaffe-birdman!
Yep, the criticalneye of the QC Dept is there, together with the horror Vne unfinished model(s) "test flights"...
It is a miracle that some models have survived...
Indeed, this is a simple, pleasant, stress relieve build!

What an immense difference compared to the Tornado.

No matter how "quick" and "simple a build might be, there are some things that I cannot let pass over. In the case of the Falcon, one of them is the the intake strut, with the omission of it resulting in somehow toy-ish looks. To render it, I took the easy way and just inserted a piece of stretched sprue from a hole that I opened from the bottom, then "secured" it with liquid cement and filled/sanded the hole. Here is:

    Onto the paint shop!

    Darker gray applied

Next is a bit of masking and onto the lighter grays.
    Thanks for stopping by!

That strut gives it a much more professional look, Spiros @fiveten.
To me "quick" and "simple" are words that do not correlate to modelling.
The first layer of paint is great.

Nice progress Spiros, one of the drawbacks on some of these simple quick build F-16's is the shallow intake. And lack of detail in this scale. I built a Fujimi F-16C in 72nd scale, it also had a shallow intake. Which in hindsight should've painted the plug black instead of leaving it in gloss white. Or at least make an intake cover. Otherwise it was a decent simple build like the Airfix kit. The more up to date Hasegawa is ok, but the best was the Revell F-16. Haven't checked any of the F-16's from Hobby Boss in this scale. Now the fun part. The paint work that is quite involving.
