iModeler User Terms of Service

This page describes our terms of service for you, the iModeler user. For example, we would like you to know what happens with the content you contribute, how we handle your account data and what we're expecting of you as a user. All terms have been formed out of our experience of actually running this site, and we have worked hard to put them together in a simple and straightforward way. Please review these terms carefully. We are grateful you're here.


Dear user,

These terms of service govern your use of iModeler’s site, system, functionality and content, briefly also called "services”.

By using or registering to iModeler, you agree to accept and follow these terms. If you're using our services for an organization, you're agreeing to these terms on behalf of that organization.

Your content

By posting it to this community, you are licensing your content under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs (CC BY-ND) license. This license lets others comment, quote, share, link, display or reuse your content for any purpose; however, the content cannot be adapted from its original form, and credit must always be provided to you.

By posting content to iModeler, you also give us a nonexclusive license to store your content and display it on our services, including anything reasonably related to displaying it (like storing, displaying, reformatting, distributing, advertising, making backups of it).

The actual placement and presentation of your content will be determined by iModeler. This means that you agree to have your content displayed alongside any and all other content at the services. We may also use portions of your content to promote that content or the iModeler, for example in social media, on other websites or in email.

You understand that other users will be allowed to interact with your content, which may include actions like adding comments and sharing links to it in social media or on other websites.

Your posting responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you post. This includes assuming any legal responsibilities related to it, for example with respect to copyrights or someone else’s reliance on its accuracy.

You’re welcome to post content on iModeler that you’ve published elsewhere. By posting it you represent that doing so doesn’t conflict with any other agreements you’ve made.

When posting someone else's content to iModeler, you represent that you have the right to do so. For example, you are posting a work by permission of the author, under a general license such as Creative Commons, a work that is in public domain or under conditions that qualify as fair use.

When posting to iModeler you must oblige to the laws of your country or area. As iModeler is operating worldwide, we reserve the right to remove any content that violates the legislation of any country where iModeler is operating.

You can delete any of your posts, or your account, anytime, either by using a provided delete function or when this is not available, requesting the removal. Processing the account deletion may take a little time, but we’ll do it as quickly as possible. We may keep backup copies of your deleted post or account on our servers for reference purposes.

We reserve the right to remove or deny publishing any content, including yours, for any reason. We may also make moderate changes to your content to fit the editorial criteria of iModeler or for the sake of improving clarity, for example by by correcting typos, reformatting, making adjustments to the pictures or the title etc.

Content limitations

When linking content (such as pictures) from other sites, you must take care that the links do not get broken over time. In consideration for the experience of other users, broken content will be removed.

When posting to iModeler you may not ask or advise other users to pay you money or to purchase any services or items, either from you or from any other specific source, unless you do so by (1) providing a response to another user who specifically asked for such advice, (2) using a trading forum dedicated for the purpose or (3) via paid advertising at the services. iModeler may or may not choose to provide these alternatives at its own discretion.

Data & security

By registering to iModeler you agree to letting us transfer, store, and process your account data (including personal information that you're supplying) and content on servers associated with the services. These servers will be operated by our technical providers and can be placed in multiple locations around the World.

By using the content and services of iModeler, you agree to our use of cookies. iModeler uses cookies to deliver many of its key functions, for example keeping track of your session, counting how many visitors we receive to a page, to help you sign in or to personalize your view of the content.

You may not do, or try to do, the following: (1) access or tamper with non-public areas of our Services, our computer systems, or the systems of our technical providers; (2) access or search the Services by any means other than the currently available, published interfaces (e.g., APIs) that we provide; (3) forge any TCP/IP packet header or any part of the header information in any email or posting, or in any way use the Services to send altered, deceptive, or false source-identifying information; or (4) interfere with, or disrupt, the access of any user, host, or network, including sending a virus, overloading, flooding, spamming, mail-bombing the Services, or by scripting the creation of content or accounts in such a manner as to interfere with or create an undue burden on the Services. (5) attempt to login to other users' accounts or to crack their passwords.

You agree not to reverse engineer or decompile the services, attempt to do so, or assist anyone in doing so.

Crawling the services is only allowed if done in accordance with the provisions of our robots.txt file.

If you find a security vulnerability on iModeler, please tell us.

Additional rules and policies

By using iModeler, you agree to follow any additonal rules that may be published by the iModeler or its staff, for example the netiquette rules or the editorial guidelines. If you don’t, we may remove content, or even suspend/delete your account.

We care about fair use of trademarks. As a result of receiving a valid takedown notice, we’ll investigate any use of another’s trademark and remove offending content if necessary.

In consideration for iModeler granting you access to and use of the services, you agree that we may at some point enable advertising on the services, which may create situations where advertising is displayed in connection with your content.

Our intellectual property

We reserve all rights in iModeler’s look and feel. Some parts of iModeler are licensed under third-party open source licenses. We may also make some of our own code available under open source licenses.

As for other parts of iModeler, you may not copy or adapt any portion of our code, logos or visual design elements without express written permission from us unless otherwise permitted by law.

Final provisions

We may announce changing these terms in the future. By using iModeler on or after the announcement of the change, you agree to the new terms. If you don’t agree to them, you should delete your account before they take effect, otherwise your use of the site and content will be subject to the new terms.

iModeler provides the services to you as is. They don’t come with any warranty, either express or implied. This means that you use them at your own risk and discretion; iModeler won’t be liable to you for any type of damage that may arise from your using the services, for example those caused by the services or your account being unavailable, hacked or terminated. We also reserve the right to change any aspect of the service at any time, without notice.
