The fine art of having the day off...
What a nice opportunity to apply the French Blue at my Alpha Jet!
As per my usual goofing, I had forgotten to mask the fin red part (I wonder what I was thinking...), discovering it in horror AFTER starting to apply the blue...
Thank goodness, just an unnoticeable mist of blue sent over the port side of the fin...
I aplied BDR (Battle Damage Repair) techniques, in order to mask the fin, without touching the fuselage underside already sprayed blue...
All went well, so painting continued.
Here are the results:
The Alpha Jet sports two very characteristic aerodynamic actuator covers under each wing.
The problem is that this model is probably going to be displayed on its base at my friend's living room, or his office at home, or at a similar place. His friends will for sure like to have a look and they might occasionally touch it. Also it will occasinally have to be dusted off. All these are negative factors for the fragile aerocovers above.
So, since my friend lives in France and I live in Greece (meaning it would be difficult to provide "on site" service), I decided to leave them off.
More to come!
