Who doesn't like checkerboard on a racer? Those checkerboard squares were a bear to get on correctly. The prop is an oversized aftermarket product. Most air race fans remember this checkerboard scheme as Bardahl II. E.D. Weiner's pylon racer number 49 sat in a museum for almost 10 years after his death. Max Hoffman and Bill Harrison brought the airplane back to Reno to race again in '79 under the name of Boomer II.

I remember seeing the real one "back in the day." Nice work.
