Who doesn't like checkerboard on a racer? Those checkerboard squares were a bear to get on correctly. The prop is an oversized aftermarket product.Most air race fans remember this checkerboard scheme as Bardahl II. E.D. Weiner's pylon racer number 49 sat in a museum for almost 10 years after his death. Max Hoffman and Bill Harrison brought the airplane back to Reno to race again in '79 under the name of Boomer II.
