I had built the Bf.109, Spitfire, and Zero as individual builds inspired by the old Aurora kits that I built as a kid. A fellow Hyperscaler referred to my builds as the Air-ora collection. I decided to flesh out the idea by building a P-40, Fw.190, and Hellcat to form the Air-ora "Famous Fighters" Squadron. I mat do a Silver P-38 if I can find some pre--WW2 rudder stripes. These are all OOB, in the sprit of the old-time kits.

The paint on each model is overall one color to replicate the original plastic that the old kits were molded in. I painted the details in appropriate colors. The markings are kit decals and fragments from the scrap-box. The paint jobs and markings are as close to the original instructions, kit decals, and box-art as I could get, given what I had to work with. I used paint from Testors, Tamiya, Vallejo, Xtracolor, Humbrol, Model Master, and Future to seal everything in. All models are brush-painted, as they would have been back in the day(I don't own an airbrush).

I have had a lot of fun doing these. I really m a child who never grew up. Nostalgia building is about 75% over my builds these days.

    Adios, Larry.

Good to see a person come up with a unique idea and follow through. Speaking for myself I get a lot of ideas & most of them stay at that stage.
Bet the yellow was fun brush painting.
    Thanks for posting.
