Researching for a F4F and always confused about all the minor differences between its variants, I found this photo. What's the device visible under the wing of this F4F-3?

Another interesting detail are these atypical fairings over inboard spent ammo chutes. Haven't seen this kingd of arrangement before

Hello Martin,

Very nice photos, I think same than David, a bomb dispenser in the first photo.
Second one, it's a very interesting shot from WWII era, where did you find it? It shows a relative "new" Wildcat, no visible weathering or worn paint, chips, and nothing at all.
