I was Googling images of the Ventura, tryin' to see if by simply NOT installing the guns, turret and glass nose, I could build an 'accurate' civilian version. It doesn't appear so. There would be other "alterations" necessary it seems. Probably different engines, the addition of windows, etc., etc. I invite your opinions, suggestions and advice in this endeavor.
There is a very good book called "The Lockheed Twins" which documents all of the Lockheed aircraft ranging from the Electra, thru the Hudson, Lodestar, Ventura, Harpoon and concludes with the Learstar and the Howard conversions. Not exactly a "detail and scale" reference, but one stop shopping if you need something - anything- to start from.
