@gblair, thank you, George. If a F-16 would apprear on my bench, I always wanted to go for a squadron based on Volkel. Although 311 squadron has been dismantled since 2012. Looking forward to yours.

Looking forward to your progress on this build John. I was very pleased finishing my Dutch F-16A, using the same kit. Very nice kit indeed.

    Finally started on the Falcon.
Prepared the interior parts, not too complex.
A bit of paint should make it a bit more attractive.
Has been a very long time since I worked on modern jet aircraft, should be over 35 years.

Hi John, hope you will enjoy the build of jet aircraft. @johnb
I certainly do and to be honest I also like to build an occasional propeller driven bird as long as it fits my current 1/48 RNLAF (KLu) theme! 😊

@alfred, thanks, Alfred. I will definitely enjoy it, just some challenges. A 'modern' jet in 1/72 is not my usual thing but I like to have a previously Volkel based Falcon on my shelf.

Paintwork started on the interior, dry fitted the fuselage which does go together quite nicely.

Mounted the characteristic air intake, did fit quite nicely.

While searching the net regarding the J-636, the aircraft I will build, is shown with and without a chute installed. I always thought that Dutch F16s did carry a chute but as you can see on the added pictures, this is not correct. It seems that this specific aircraft got one installed or removed. @alfred, or others, any idea about this observation.

    Without the chute

    And with the chute installed
