Eyes are tough, Brian (@brithebuilder). A lot of decisions to make in respect to the eyes, and it throws everything off if the eyes are off. Yours look great. I have been doing some reading and I think I may try oils on mine.

@gblair - Thanks George. I did a lot of oil painting in HS and College. I don't want to deal with the smell or the mess anymore. The wonderful part is the long dry times allow you to do amazing blending. The downside is also the long dry times.

More updates to the face. It is going to be the overall 'centerpiece' of the project. I thinned the black lines around the eyes using a combination of flesh tones to the outside and I think it really helped. I've added some Reikland Fleshshade sparingly into the creases on the face as well as a bit of a very thin grey blue stabbed onto the beard area. I have thinned the eyebrows and hopefully added the feeling of individual eyebrow hairs. Gloss was added to the eyes... a very thin highlight was added to the raised areas in a bit of a hatch/crosshatch style. It's feint, but I know it's there as an homage to the old comics I read.

Making some progress. A brown/black wash over the shield and helmet... and the hair. Brown wash on all the boots. The WWE belt still needs a wash to tone it down a bit. I think the dagger and sword look good with the black leather hand wrap. I was going to do brown, but there's so much brown already.

Looks great, Brian (@brithebuilder). I especially like the way the metallic areas look. Very convincing. Back in the Conan days, I think a lot of stuff was some form of brown leather.
