A basic guide to making lead weights to avoid tail dragers ! ------- step 1 = pour some casting plaster in where you want the lead to go, pic's 1 to 5, -------- step 2 = allow to dry and remove any areas that will trap this in the mold, ----- step 3 = mount this on a base and box it in, pic's 6 to 8, ---------step 4 = apply some mold release all over, Vaseline works, pic 6, -------- step 5 = pour in some casting plaster and hope it comes apart when dry, pic 8, ------------ step 6 = allow this to dry thoroughly before pouring in molten lead or the water retained in the plaster will boil out and spray molten lead all over every thing including you ! allow time for it to solidify before carefully removing the hot lead from the mold !
