It's been a while since I have checked in here on your race V-14 Bf109. I would consider painting some thin strips of tape the same color as what you were going to paint on the canopy frames. Then once they dried, I would try placing them in position, to simulate the canopy frame work. Tape will usually hold well, especially if you use a tape like Tamiya or something similar. If you are careful, the paint should remain in place too. If not, you should be able to lightly brush paint any touch up as needed.
