Ok - the Potez it is! Now, being unfamiliar with this whole group build thing, I did read that a separate thread should be started for each build - how exactly do you do that - and do i then keep posting to the same thread with the wip photos? sorry for the silly questions..

Okay Paul, here is how you do it. You come here and click on "New Topic". Then you give your topic a title. For example "BoF/BoB Group Build WIP-Potez". Upload some photos, add a little text, then hit the "Submit" button (or what ever it is called), and you are done. You can add on to your thread as needed or just click "New Topic" and run through the aforementioned steps every time you make a bit of progress on your build. Choice is yours. Hope this helps.

Thanks Seamus - seems easy enough. Appreciate the guidance. I'll get it going in the next day or two...

OK, Seamus, I'm in with the French tank, I've ordered it today, just waiting for the postman to come so I can start it. To begin with here's a quote from the Tamiya web site:

    B1 bis tank at Stonne
On May 15, 1940, the German invasion of France was in its 5th day. This story takes place at the town of Stonne, in northeastern France, south of Sedan, and involves a clash between units of the Grossdeutschland Regiment and B1 bis tanks from the French 3rd Armored Division. Lieutenant Beck Broichisitter of the 14th Anti-Tank Battery, who was there that day, directly experienced the fierce French counterattack.
With enemy gunfire erupting from all sides, conditions in the German lines turned to chaos. Grenadiers from various companies had been left scattered and leaderless, with disabled and destroyed vehicles littering the area along the village street. Still the attack did not let up, and soon 6 B1 bis tanks, accompanied by numerous infantry, bore down on the German lines. Hurrying the 37mm anti-tank guns into position, commanders issued orders to fire, but the powerfully armored French tanks were very difficult to stop...

Hi all, I still have not decided what yet, but have narrowed down the field a bit.

After looking through the stash I found not a lot suitable bar the obvious Spit and Hurri.

So my mind went a wondering, and came up with some thing a little less built.

A Defiant was first choice the Airfix one, no joy then I thought about what this build is about and then went into pre BoB.

A Fairey Battle or an Handley Page Hampden are my ideas.

Was also thinking about doing a Wimpey but knowing my build speed would not get it built on time.

You know, Simon, I was thinking about doing a Daffy as well. MPM and Airfix have one in 1/72, and Classic Airframes did one in 1/48 if you can find it. Maybe after the Spit...

Neil, apart from its age, what's wrong with the Airfix kit? Please tell me it's not like the Seafire...:-)

It was a c**p kit Jaime, totally .
Have seen the others on the big H site over here but may look at doing an Lysander...

The Defiant would be a cool subject to model if there were any decent kits of it around. The Airfix example is ancient and not very accurate even In outline. Its about time some of the big manufacturers gave this one a go!

Well I have an 1/48 Eduard Profi-Pack Bf-110C coming which will be my primary subject, but with all these cool markings from XtraDecal and crazy sale prices around it appears that a Spit, a Hurri, a Stuka & a109E, all Airfix Redbox 1/48 scale, are making there way to my door. Yikes. I still like the idea about the Tilly, and if anybody can tell me how to get a Battle of Arras Matilda Mk II in 1/35 with mortgaging the house, I'm listening.

I've made up my mind. I'm doing a Hobby Craft P-36, H75A-1 in France, in French markings. This one is in the stash.
Going to try & get out of my comfort zone on the second one, a Riich Mk I Universal Carrier w/crew. Will be my first serious attempt at figures.

Alright now lads, lets slow our roll for a minute. This group build is just for fun and enjoyment. No need to feel pressured and no need to build a show stopper. This is not the IPMS (International Pre Menstrual Society) nor will I show up at your door if you do not finish your build by deadline. If you want to build the Airfix Defiant, feel free to do so, it does not have to be perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect kit because there is no such thing as a perfect modeler. Frankie says relax! Now go build yourselves a model.
