Changing profile photo (avatar)....help! :(

I decided to swap out my avatar (the pic in the circle)...for some [unknown] reason, now I find I can't do it. The error message states "failed to upload - must use JPEG image" - which I did. I've attempted this seemingly easy operation several times with no success. Any advice on what - if anything - I'm doing wrong (or not doing)...?

EDIT: OK, I've managed to "drop a [usable] file" and place it in the appropriate location to change my profile photo (avatar), but cannot seem to 'fill in the blank spot', as it were - and move the desired pic.

I was able to try this now on my end and managed to change you avatar w/o further trouble.
Not sure what was broken when you tried it, but it would seem there was a glitch outside of our servers.
