    Found a great product, Modellers Pigment, Brown Earth. I am in the process of applying it liberally to my Rooikat.
    As you can in the attached image of a test bed variant, the dust really sticks.
    So, this is what I am trying to emulate with my build.

    @johnb & @anthonyricco, the powders do stick to a point but there are specialist agents you can use to adhere lumps or smeer like a wash. Do some research on pigments, really cool stuff.
