Now I shaded the pieces. Let it dry outside on the first real sunny day of the year. The primer was matt black from the rattle can. My son likes it! The imitated cast steel surface came out nicely I think, I used my dremel yesterday to roughen the whole up a bit more. Cast steel faults are quite common, or at least in the 1930-ies when these assemblies were made.

Next is the anti-shad using white and red oxide for the interior and then the German Grey main base color.

    Happy modeling, Michel.

I shaded the Mörser first in black from the rattle can and then counter-shaded using matt white in top areas with my AB. I then proceeded painting the interior oxide-red because this used to be the primer for all early-war vehicles. I presumed the interior did not take the final German-grey color. This is the result:

The build is now closing in to completion. Still to do is the track painting and weathering. I am thinking of a small base for it as well.

Hope you like, thanks for checking in!
    Happy modeling, Michel.

Some final assemblies and detail painting on the chassis, also dry-fitted the wheels. Looks ok to me although I struglled adding the individual link plastic tracks, in a next life I will build the kit with metal tracks if available 😉

No direct alignment yet, will think of a way to do that best over 11 road wheels per side... Suggestions welcome!

    Happy modeling, Michel.

    Looks superb, my friend @michel-verschuere!
Being no armor specialist by any means, I would just glue all wheels at once and trust my eyes for alignment, support the model on a flat surface at a position where the wheels would naturally rest on the surface, but without being pressed, then let the glue cure.

    Looking great, Michel @michel-verschuere
I am not an armor person but I was wondering if those wheels were fixed and perfectly aligned in real, shouldn't each wheel have its own spring mechanism and therefore no perfect alignment?

Thanks @fiveten @johnb I think I will fix them on the side in order for all wheels to be in the same plane. I linked the track in two places by drilling a hole full width and then inserting a piece of copper wire. I may this still remove the track for this step. Thanks for checking in! Michel.

This is looking great, @michel-verschuere, I’m sure those wheels wouldn’t have been in perfect alignment in real life, surely that’s why there’s so many of them.

Man, what a beast Michel @michel-verschuere! 😁 It is certainly impressive, as is your result! 👍 Recently, I came across this interesting Nightshft video, apropos for this model, that may give you some base ideas. 😊

    Thanks @fiveten, @johnb @chinesegeorge and @garybrantley for checking in!
I found a way to align the road wheels (11 each side). I thought to first cut a V-shape piece of paper and then clamp it in the setting wheels with a piece of 1mm balsa. This is doing the job. Prior to this achtion, I weathered the inside of the lower hull sides because they become inaccessible afterwards.

    Slowly this one reaches conclusion.

    Happy modeling, Michel.
